CloningFacility: Replicate, Reimagine, Redefine – The Art of Repetition and Innovation
At CloningFacility, our mission is to explore the art of replication, reimagination, and redefinition within the creative realm. We believe that repetition can be a powerful tool for innovation, that patterns hold endless possibilities, and that by exploring the concept of “cloning” in art and design, we can uncover new aesthetic frontiers. Whether you’re fascinated by minimalist design, generative art, algorithmic creations, conceptual installations, or the beauty of repetition in form, CloningFacility will guide you through the “why” of replication and the “how-to” appreciate and utilize its creative potential.
Our Story
CloningFacility was conceived by two conceptual artists, Cygnus Ellis and Echo Dubois, who share a fascination with the themes of repetition, duplication, and the creative possibilities inherent in the act of “cloning.” Their years of exploring minimalist aesthetics, generative art techniques, and conceptual installations, combined with a belief that repetition can be a source of innovation and beauty, led them to create CloningFacility as a platform for showcasing and exploring the artistic potential of replication.
Cygnus brings his technical expertise in generative art and algorithmic design and a focus on the mathematical and systematic aspects of repetition to CloningFacility, while Echo infuses her conceptual art background and a passion for exploring the philosophical and aesthetic implications of duplication into every artwork showcase, conceptual exploration, and resource guide. Together, they’ve explored artistic movements and design principles that embrace repetition and replication (from minimalist art to algorithmic patterns) to curate a collection of artworks and insights that embodies the essence of CloningFacility: replicate, reimagine, redefine.
Why we started CloningFacility
Unlike many art platforms focused on traditional art forms or individual artistic expression, CloningFacility is dedicated to the conceptual exploration of replication and its creative potential. Yes, you’ll find examples of art that utilizes repetition and duplication, but you’ll also delve into the why behind the artistic interest in “cloning” as a concept and its impact on contemporary art and design. Why is repetition a powerful artistic tool? How can “cloning” be a source of innovation in art? When does duplication become a form of creative redefinition? And how can embracing the concept of replication expand our understanding of art and the creative process itself? By exploring these elements, you’ll unlock a new perspective on art and design with CloningFacility.
We celebrate the beauty of repetition, conceptual exploration, and the innovative potential of “cloning” as a creative concept. CloningFacility isn’t about literal cloning; it’s about using the idea of replication as a lens to explore artistic innovation, to appreciate the power of patterns, and to redefine creative boundaries through the art of repetition and reimagination. That’s why CloningFacility encourages you to be conceptually open, to explore the artistic possibilities of replication, and above all, enjoy the journey of discovering the art of repetition and innovation at CloningFacility with Cygnus and Echo.
